The Wakefield 5k is held in memory of McKelvy Costin, Wakefield's former athletic director. We honor Kelvy's ideals and sportsmanship by directing all proceeds from this event to the school's financial aid program. Over 25% of students at Wakefield receive financial aid. Incorporated in Wakefield's mission of academic excellence is the commitment to support as many families as possible who embrace our ambitious vision to develop capable, ethical, and articulate citizens. Proceeds from Kelvy's 5k Run enhance our ability to make this exceptional educational opportunity broadly available in our community.
